Bob Iger Interview with The Rest is History
In a new episode of The Rest is History podcast, CEO Bob Iger spoke with hosts Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook about the creative legacy of Walt Disney, as well as his own time as head of The Walt Disney Company.
The conversation was recorded over two days (October 2 and 3, 2025) at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank and Disneyland Park in Anaheim.

Iger spoke on 70 years of Disneyland park, especially on Walt’s early embrace of technology and innovation. “Unlike many in the business that cowered in the face of technology because they viewed it as more of a threat than an opportunity, Walt was the opposite; there are countless examples of that,” Iger shared.
The Legacies of Walt Disney and Bob Iger
With the end of his contract coming up next year, Iger also spoke to his own legacy — and what he thinks Walt would have thought. “Let’s respect our past and not revere it, let’s not let it get in the way of innovation and continuing to evolve as a company, which I knew from everything that I’ve studied
Iger also talked about his own legacy and how he believes Walt would be proud to see where Disney is today.
“I would want to be known as someone who was given the keys to this kingdom, and that I brought it to a place that even Walt would be proud of. What that means is more great storytelling to a larger audience, more innovation, more risk-taking, more creation of happiness. I really have been mindful of the duty that I feel has been handed to me to make it even better than it’s ever been.”
