Park Hopping Just Got Easier: Big Changes Are Coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Park Reservations

If you’ve been waiting for Disney to make changes to its park reservation program, it’s finally happening! Find out how park reservations are becoming more flexible for 2023.

Park reservations have become the new normal at Disney theme parks around the world. And Guests old and new have long had some pretty, um, clear opinions about making these reservations, particularly when it comes to park hopping! But there’s great news on the horizon: It’s about to get even easier to park hop at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

Disney announced that starting in 2023, the park reservation requirements for both resorts’ theme parks are becoming more flexible.

These changes to the park reservation requirements don’t mean you can skip the reservations altogether for your next visit to Disneyland or Walt Disney World. But it does mean you can park hop with ease! Keep reading to find out how to take advantage of the new flexibility whether you’re in Florida or California.

Walt Disney World: Park Reservations Relax After 2 PM for Annual Passholders

If you’re a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, you’ll be able to take advantage of more flexible park reservation requirements when you’re ready to park hop during each visit. After 2 PM, you’ll be able to visit the theme parks without making a Park Pass Reservation.

That’s right: Late-afternoon and evening visits to Disney World theme parks will be totally reservation-free for Passholders!

There is one catch, though. This big change doesn’t apply to Saturday and Sunday visits at Magic Kingdom Park. If you’re planning to visit the Magic Kingdom after 2 PM on a weekend, you’ll still need to make an advance reservation.

But there are other perks coming for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders, too! Disney also announced that Passholders will now get access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and one complimentary Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience.

When does the new Walt Disney World Passholder reservation policy begin? Disney has yet to provide an official start date, saying these offerings will be available “soon.” So, for the time being, make sure to keep clocking those Park Pass Reservations before you head to the theme parks after 2 PM!

Disneyland Resort: Guests Can Park Hop Starting at 11 AM

While Disneyland Guests with Magic Key passes or park tickets have been able to park hop without worrying about additional park reservations, now you’ll have the chance to enter your second park even earlier. Disney announced that it’s bumping up the official start time of daily park hopping from 1 PM to 11 AM.

This means you can start your day in a second theme park a whole two hours earlier than you could previously! That’s more magic and more time to take advantage of the offerings in both theme parks.

Both Guests with Magic Keys and Guests with Park Hopper tickets can take advantage of the new 11 AM park hopping time. However, keep in mind that you’ll still need to make a park reservation for the first theme park you’d like to visit for the day.

When does the new Disneyland Resort park hopping time start? You can park hop beginning at 11 AM starting February 4, 2023.
