Students can now apply for next year’s 2024 Disney Dreamers Academy.

Current students, you’re not going to want to miss this news: Applications for the upcoming 2024 Disney Dreamers Academy are officially open! Disney revealed the news at the ESSENCE Festival of Culture with Gospel singing star Pastor Mike Jr., who was one of the speakers at the 2023 Academy.

Now that applications and nominations are being accepted for the 2024 Disney Dreamers Academy, a new group of high school students will have the opportunity to join this special and spectacular program. Learn more about the Disney Dreamers Academy below!

What is the Disney Dreamers Academy?

The Disney Dreamers Academy, which first began in 2008, is a career and professional development program for teens. Each year, the Academy selects a class of 100 teens from Black and underrepresented communities across America to participate in an all-expense-paid four-day event at Walt Disney World Resort. 

In addition to working with teens on their future goals and hopes, the Disney Dreamers Academy also introduces them to new possibilities and gives them the tools to pursue them. Students learn valuable life skills, effective communication techniques, leadership skills, networking strategies, and more. Throughout the four-day event, the Dreamers participate in workshops that are aligned with their unique dreams, helping them to see the potential of futures in areas like business, entertainment, sciences, and even careers within The Walt Disney Company.

Over the years since its inception, the Disney Dreamers Academy has inspired more than 1,500 students. Graduates of the program have gone on to become doctors, engineers, performing artists, entrepreneurs, and even Disney Cast Members!

Who can become a Dreamer? As Tracey D. Powell, Disney Signature Experiences Vice President, says, “We’re seeking the next generation of big dreamers to bring to Walt Disney World for the 17th year of this life-changing program. Any teen in your life who aspires to achieve their goals should apply. You never know where it could take them!”

How to Apply for the Disney Dreamers Academy

If you’re interested in becoming a Disney Dreamer and want to be considered for the 2024 class, you can apply now at DisneyDreamersAcademy.com – and you can also nominate others! The application process runs through October 2023, so make sure to get your application or nomination in early.
