5 Reasons to Stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

by | Feb 18, 2022 | Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Resorts

Trying to pick the right Value Resort for your family’s trip to Walt Disney World? We offer five reasons to stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort on the Skyliner route.

Some may argue that picking a hotel to stay at during your Disney World vacation is one of the toughest parts about trip planning. You find yourself asking questions like:

  • “Should I stay on or off property?”
  • “Is a Deluxe Resort worth the splurge?”
  • “What benefits come with a Disney Resort?”
  • “Does location matter?”

While there are great aspects about each Disney Resort, let’s review why Art of Animation is worth your consideration and may be the perfect fit for your next trip!

1. Disney Theming Like No Other

One of the best parts about staying in a Disney Resort is the attention to detail and incredible theming.

Whether you’re transported to an exotic location around the world or immersed in an alternate reality, the hotels are a huge part of the overall Disney World experience.

But many hotels do not feature theming that’s overtly Disney. And this is where Disney’s Art of Animation shines.

Like its name suggests, Art of Animation brings guests up close to Disney and Pixar animated classics like The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars. Film fans and children will love the themed buildings, rooms, and sculptures.

While you’ll find similar large characters and scenery pieces at All-Sports Movies Resort, Art of Animation takes it to another level, infusing the Disney animated magic throughout the entire hotel grounds.

In fact, the theming makes it a great hotel to visit and explore on a resort-hopping day away from the parks.

2. Location, location, location.

Location isn’t only important when you’re buying a house. It can also play a huge part in your Disney vacation. Depending on your hotel’s location, you can save huge chunks of time, primarily due to multiple transportation options

And Art of Animation has access to arguably the newest and most exciting transportation option at Disney World: the Skyliner.

This gondola system takes you on a thrilling journey 60 feet high, connecting riders between hotels and parks.

Tap here for the Skyliner route guide.

Art of Animation is fortunate to share a Skyliner Station with the nearby Pop Century Resort, located in between the two hotels. From there, you’ll get quick access to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, as well as Caribbean Beach and Riviera Resorts if you have dining reservations there.

This means the buses aren’t your only means of free Disney transportation, which can tend to have long lines and get crowded quickly.

Being near to Pop Century (you literally just need to cross a bridge) means you can also quickly get to another food court if you’re looking for another dining option close by.

3. Did We Mention the Pool?

There is no shortage of great pools at Disney World. But if you want to hang out at the largest hotel pool in the entire complex, you’ll need to swim at Art of Animation.

The massive Big Blue Pool holds over 308,527 gallons! It also features a zero entry, which makes it very kid-friendly

The Finding Nemo theme makes it easy to imagine you are swimming in the ocean with Dory and the crew. Up until a few years ago, you could even hear music and character voices underwater from the film. This feature, however, has been removed due to safety concerns.

Art of Animation has two other pools as well, so there is lots of aquatic fun to be had at this hotel.

4. Plenty of Room for the Whole Family

Unless you are staying at a Deluxe Villa, one common complaint about Disney hotel rooms is that they’re on the smaller side. This makes it a tight squeeze for larger families unless you reserve multiple rooms.

Art of Animation has the answer to your problem: the Family Suite.

This large room layout can sleep up to six and features a separate bedroom, living room, a kitchenette, and two bathrooms, making it a great option for big families or multiple groups to share one space.

5. A Great “Value”

The best part about Art of Animation? Even with all the amazing amenities and features listed in this article, it’s still considered a Value Resort, placing it in the most affordable hotel category at Disney World.

While not quite as cheap as the All-Star Resorts or Fort Wilderness campsites, it can still be a much more budget-friendly option compared to Moderate or Deluxe Resorts. And with almost 2,000 rooms, there’s plenty of space for you and your family.

Stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

So whether you want convenient access to the Skyliner or to sleep in a room themed to your favorite Disney or Pixar animated film, be sure to check out Art of Animation for your next Disney stay.
