Earlier this summer, Disney announced its 2021 Very Merriest After Hours event at the Magic Kingdom. Like Boo Bash, this will be a hard-ticket event that happens after Magic Kingdom closes. That means regular park admission to Magic Kingdom won’t get you into the party.
So how do you go to Magic Kingdom’s Very Merriest After Hours party? You’ll need to purchase a special ticket.

2021 Very Merriest After Hours Ticket Prices

The cost of a night at Very Merriest can vary greatly depending on when you go, how many are in your party, and Annual Passholder or DVC status.
Tickets for Very Merriest start at $169, but after taxes, the cheapest ticket for the Very Merriest After Hours is $179.99.

At the time of writing, there are only four nights left with that pricing:
- November 9
- November 11
- November 16
- November 18
Tickets are available on select nights in November for $189 ($201.29 after taxes), $209 ($243.89 after tax), and $249 ($265.19 after tax).

In December 2021, the cheapest ticket for Very Merriest After Hours is $209 ($243.89 after tax), but they go as high as $249 ($265.19 after tax) on the last two nights (December 19 and December 21).
For a family of four, attending 2021 Very Merriest After Hours on December 21 would cost $1,060.76—and that’s before food, drinks, and merch.
For reference, a single guest in a four-person group would pay just $749 per night for a cabin in Galactic Starcruiser. (Of course, the four-person total over two nights is $5,999, which is a wee bit more than a night at Very Merriest for that same family.)

Oh yeah, despite having to specify which guests are 10+ and which are 3-9, 2021 Very Merriest After Hours ticket prices are exactly the same, no matter your age.
A bright spot: Children ages 2 and younger don’t need tickets to attend. So if you see a bunch of babies strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. unattended, they’re just out for a free night on the town. Those babies are future coupon clippers fo’ sho.
How to Buy a Ticket to Very Merriest After Hours

Getting a ticket to this exclusive event is easy. Just add it to your Christmas list and send it off to Santa.
Oh, wait, the final night is December 21, so Santa won’t make it on time. Instead, you’ll need to purchase your tickets on the Disney website.
Just select the date you want to go, add in the number of guests, and have payment ready. But don’t worry about a Park Pass Reservation; you won’t need to worry about that for this event.
What Does a Very Merriest Ticket Get You?

So if you’re paying premium dollars to rock around the Christmas tree with Mickey and Friends, what does entry to Very Merriest actually get you?
Despite the high price tag, the 2021 Very Merriest After Hours party does sound really cool.
4 Hours of Short Lines for Top Attractions

The event lasts 4 hours, starting at 9 PM. During that time, you will have access to some of the best rides in Magic Kingdom, with much shorter wait times. Rides that have made the Very Merriest cut:
- Haunted Mansion
- Space Mountain
- Jungle Cruise
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
And if you aren’t already spending the day at Magic Kingdom, you can actually use your Very Merriest ticket to get into the park 2 hours ahead of the event. Two “free” hours!

Free Snacks and Drinks

There will be plenty of cool desserts and drinks available for purchase to mark the occasion, but if you want to get all the bangs for all your bucks, check out all the free food and drinks available: ice cream, popcorn, soda, and even a “seasonal treat” all across the park!

After enjoying Disney Enchantment, the brand-new fireworks show that will debut on Oct. 1 in honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, you will be able to stick around for a second nighttime spectacular: Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show.
But if that’s not enough, you can also wave hello to your favorite Disney characters and Santa Claus himself in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.
Over in Tomorrowland (where you’ll definitely want to be so you can hop right onto Space Mountain with almost no line), join the Club Tinsel Dance Party and show off your best moves.
Plus, your favorite characters, including Pooh, Tigger, the Country Bears, and Jiminy Cricket will be strolling the park to say hello. If you’re lucky, you may even hear a carol from the Reindeer Wranglers over in Frontierland.
