Sunshine Griddle Booth Reviews

Press photos are one thing, but honest reviews and on-site photos are better! Here are photos of what we were served and our candid thoughts on this year’s selections.

Avocado Toast Review

  • Avocado Toast (NEW); $5.75
    • With Marinated Toybox Tomatoes and Fresh Goat Cheese on Toasted Ciabatta

WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “I love a dressed up avocado toast, and I love goat cheese! This was enough goat cheese for me because I’m crazy about it, but the flavor of the cheese overpowered the rest of the dish, so maybe brush off a few hunks before your bite. The tomatoes were very fresh, and the ciabatta bread was done just right.”

Froot Loops Shake Review

  • Froot Loops Shake (NEW) (Non-Alcoholic); $4.50

WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “This is a liquified Froot Loop. Seriously, if you’re a lover of Froot Loops, this shake is the end-all-be-all. Despite its neon glow, it was also not too sugary, so we actually finished it!”

Corned Beef Brisket Hash Review

  • Corned Beef Brisket Hash (NEW); $6.25
    • With House-made Potato Barrels, Onions, Peppers, Cheese Curds, and a Soft-poached Egg with Tabasco Hollandaise

WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “The menu talks about the brisket, but we thought the egg was the real star of the show, here. It should have been called a brisket benedict! I cut into the egg, which done perfectly enough to ooze all over the onions, peppers, and brisket. While the brisket was a bit too chewy, it had a flavor that matched well with the cheese curds.”

Shrimp and Grits Review

  • Shrimp and Grits; $7.25
    • Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Cheese Grits with Brown Gravy and Sweet Corn Salsa

WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “In the grand southern tradition, this is a verrrry salty dish! I am crazy about lots of salt but I have to admit that this was a lot. The shrimp were done perfectly (not chewy) and the corn lends some texture. The sauce was a bit too tomato-soup-like for me, but all was forgiven once I missed it with the grits. There are a LOT of grits in the bottom of this bowl—this is a hearty dish to share.”

Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites Review

  • Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites (NEW); $4.25
    • With Cream Cheese Frosting and Candied Bacon

WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “The menu describes the frosting and bacon, but didn’t let on as to the filling inside! We didn’t get it in every roll, but a couple did have this cinnamony cream inside. The bacon topping was enough to eat in each bite, and these pillowy pieces of heaven were the right amount of crispy on the outside.”

Joffrey’s Cold Brew Cocktail Review

  • Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew Cocktail (NEW); $9.50
    • With Milk, Kahlúa Rum and Coffee Liqueur, and Vanilla Vodka

WDW Magazine reporter, Allyson Koerner: “This Joffrey’s Cold Brew Cocktail isn’t for the faint of heart. It is STRONG, but also delicious. If you don’t like coffee or Kahlua, you may want to pass. It resembles a White Russian, but the alcohol is a bit more potent.”
