La Isla Fresca Booth Reviews
Press photos are one thing, but honest reviews and on-site photos are better! Here are photos of what we were served and our candid thoughts on this year’s selections.
Lamb Curry Review

Lamb Curry. Photo by Rain Blanken
- Lamb Curry (Gluten/Wheat Friendly); $6.25
- With Sweet Plantains and Rice
WDW Magazine Web Producer, Kurdt Long: “The plantains have a good texture and pair well with curry sauce, which has some spice but it isn’t overwhelming. The beans and curry have lots of flavors. This was my favorite at the booth, with plenty to share between two people.”
Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer Review

Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer. Photo by Rain Blanken
- Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer (Gluten/Wheat Friendly); $7.00
- With Steamed Rice and Coconut-Lime Sauce
WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “For the price, I needed more flavor to happen here. If you’re looking for simple shrimp with rice, this dish is for you, but if you want a lot of flavors, the lamb curry is a better choice. I tried chomping on the sugar cane skewer to add a little pizazz, but it just didn’t do the trick.”
Tropical Mouse Cup Reviews

Tropical Mousse Cup. Photo by Rain Blanken
- Tropical Mousse Cup; $4.50
- Layers of Passion Fruit Cake, Coconut Mousse, and a Tropical Fruit Glaze with Fresh Pineapple
WDW Magazine Web Producer, Kurdt Long: “Light, rich, fresh—perfect pairing with the lamb.”
WDW Magazine Managing Editor, Rain Blanken: “The mousse cup is the ideal light dessert for a warm day at EPCOT. It’s not too sweet, and the cake and mousse are fluffy and delightful. Great flavor, generous portions of coconut and pineapple, and a cute chocolate piece to finish.”
Tropical Freeze Review

Tropical Freeze. Photo by Rain Blanken
- Tropical Freeze (Non-Alcoholic); $4.50
- Tropical Freeze; $10.00
- With Parrot Bay Mango Rum
WDW Magazine Web Producer, Kurdt Long: “We got the alcoholic freeze with the Parrot Bay Rum. If you think the drink isn’t very strong at the first sip… just give it a few. The rum settles to the bottom, but the coconut flavor permeates the whole drink, making it a tropical, refreshing spirit.”
