Japan Booth Reviews
Press photos are one thing, but honest reviews and on-site photos are better! Here are photos of what we were served and our candid thoughts on this year’s selections.
Frushi Review

Frushi. Photo by Tina Chiu
- Frushi; $6.00
- Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap served with Whipped Cream, Drizzled Berry Sauce and Toasted Coconut
WDW Magazine reporter, Tina Chiu: “I had tried Frushi last year for the first time and wasn’t the biggest fan of it. However, this festival to my surprise I enjoyed it so much more. The sweet rice was very noticeable and paired well with the sweetness of the strawberry, pineapple, and cantaloupe. The whip cream and berry sauce enhanced the dish and provided a creamy texture to the dish.”
Shrimp and Crab Review

- [NEW] Shrimp and Crab; $6.50
- With Spicy Mayonnaise and Cucumber Slices finished with Creamy Avocado and Violet Sauce
WDW Magazine reporter, Tina Chiu: “I enjoyed the flavors of the shrimp, crab, and spicy mayo mixture! It had a kick of spice however it wasn’t overpowering and the cucumber slices helped cool it down.”
Pork Shank Review

- [NEW] Soy-glazed Pork Shank; $7.00
- With Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Crispy Lotus Flower, Garlic Chips, and Green Onion
WDW Magazine reporter, Tina Chiu: “I first took a bite of the pork and truffle mashed potatoes together and definitely tasted the mashed potatoes more. When I tasted the pork by itself, I did notice the soy flavoring but wished the pork was more tender.”
Blood Orange Sour Review

- [NEW] Blood Orange Sour with Fresh Mint; $7.50
WDW Magazine reporter, Tina Chiu: “This was such a pretty drink served in a champagne glass with floating dried orange pieces and mint. However, it was very true to its name and was a bit too sour to my liking.”
