2023 Disney World Annual Pass Add-Ons

PhotoPass is no longer an Annual Pass perk. Instead, it’s a pricey add-on. Photo by Trisha Daab
The biggest gripe that loyal Annual Passholders have so far with the newly announced Disney World Annual Passes are the omission of free Disney PhotoPass downloads. In previous years, this was included with your annual pass.
And now? It’s a $99 add-on. Womp womp. In fact, there are two add-ons for Disney’s Annual Passes.
🏊 Water Park and Sports Option ($99 plus tax)

Common Questions About the 2022 Disney World Annual Passes

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers!
The news has been out for barely a day, and already, forums, social media, and comments sections have been flooded with opinions and plenty of questions. We’ll do our best to answer these questions with what we know from scouring through Disney’s available resources.
When Do Disney World Annual Passes Go on Sale?
The 2023 Disney World Annual Passes are on sale.
Can Disney World Annual Passes Sell Out?
As Disney World continues to monitor and manage capacity due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Disney has said that Annual Passes can sell out. And they have.
Is There a Genie+ Add-On For Disney World Annual Passes?
Genie+ is Disney’s FastPass replacement (and reviews have been, uh, lukewarm at best). Learn all about Genie+ with our comprehensive Genie+ guide, but understand that you will not be able to add Genie+ to your Annual Pass.
Instead, every Annual Passholder in your group will need to spend $15/day in the park to get Genie+.
Can I Upgrade a Ticket to an Annual Pass?
Disney has made it easy to upgrade a ticket to a Disney World Annual Pass. The price you paid toward the ticket will simply be applied toward the cost of your Annual Pass.
Does the 2023 Disney World Annual Pass Still Come with Free Parking?
Yes, despite stripping other perks (R.I.P. Disney PhotoPass downloads) from Annual Passholders, Disney is still including free parking for all levels of the new Annual Pass program.
How Do the 2023 Disney World Annual Pass Tiers Compare to the Old Annual Passes?
The big perk for the new Annual Pass program is the increase in park reservations. And, well, that’s about it.
Otherwise, the cost has increased, and the perks have gone down. Here’s what annual passes cost when they were last on sale under the old program:
- Disney EPCOT After 4 Pass: $309
- Disney Weekday Select Pass: $369
- Disney Theme Park Select Pass: $439
- Disney Silver Pass: $539
- Disney Gold Pass: $719
- Disney Platinum Pass: $1,195
- Disney Platinum Plus Pass: $1,295
It’s important to note that Disney is no longer offering comparable passes to the EPCOT After 4, Weekday Select, and Theme Park Select passes.
How Does the Florida Resident Monthly Payment Program Work?
If you live in Florida, you are able to pay for your Disney World Annual Pass on a payment program. No matter which tier of pass you purchase, there is a $205 down payment.
You will then pay a monthly payment over 12 months with 0% APR.
What If I Live Just Outside of Florida?
Some Georgia and Alabama residents may live a literal stone’s throw away from the border between them and Florida—and they might be much closer to Orlando and Disney World than, say, someone in Miami or Key West.
Even so, only Florida residents are eligible for the Florida Resident Monthly Payment Program and the three tiers of passes (Pixie Dust, Pirate, and Sorcerer) that are reserved for Florida residents only.
No exceptions, alas.
Can I Get More Park Reservations If I Stay at a Resort?
When you stay on Walt Disney World Property as an Annual Passholder, you get a guaranteed park reservation. This does not count as one of your reservations through your pass.
For example, if you have the Incredi-Pass with five park reservations and currently have four used up, you can book a stay at Pop Century with guaranteed park reservations and still leave that final park reservation up for grabs for another day.
