Today we’re joined by Courtney Victor Russ as she shares what she loved about her experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas! Take it away, Courtney!
You don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to see just how incredible the amenities are and for those of you DVC members, you understand it on a whole other level! But by far the most impressive perk of the DVC is the stellar accommodations offered to its members.
From its Value to Deluxe levels, WDW has some of (if not) the most spectacular resorts on the planet but for the DVC, “deluxe” somehow manages to be even more deluxe! #DVCLove
And while all of the DVC lodging options have their own special features, I am here to talk about the Grand Floridian Villas and the top 3 things that make this DVC resort so amazing…
Who Doesn’t Love a Little Pomp and Circumstance?
If you have ever walked through the lobby of the Grand Floridian you can’t help but having the feeling of stepping into a grandiose Victorian time capsule—well, stepping into the resort’s Grand Villa is no different… and then some. The Grand Villa opens up to a grand foyer (don’t most hotel rooms include a grand foyer?) complete with a sparkling wood floor medallion and beautifully hand-painted walls.
The décor continues on with the same classic feel, exquisitely designed to encompass the best of both the past and the present. With a full state-of-the-art kitchen, modern technology (including some of Disney’s enchanted technology), and 4 full bathrooms that could easily find their place in any lavish spa (a whirlpool tub and mirror television, I’m not sure I’d ever leave), the Grand Villa wows its DVC guests with the seamless blending all Disney fans cherish.
With 2 large bedrooms including 2 queen-size beds in each, 1 extra-large master suite centered around 1 extra-large king-size bed, AND a comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa, there is room for the whole family—and some of the neighbors—in this spacious DVC villa (if you’re counting that makes 12, plus the option of a crib, some more like 12.5)!
Movies On the Lawn, How About Movies In Your Room… Your Theater Room
All of the DVC resort villas have their own special features to make them each unique but what makes the Grand Floridian’s Grand Villa stand out is the addition of its impressive media room. Not only does it include an advanced home theater system boasting a massive flat panel television and Blue-ray player (with access to all of your favorite Disney films), it still maintains that same old-world elegance, adorning the walls with crown molding and framed Victorian photographs.. Think Mary Poppins meets Mark Zuckerberg.
A Midnight Swim, Anyone?
I could continue to go on about all of the fabulous features specific to the Grand Villa, but the amenities available to all Grand Floridian guests are worth mentioning in what makes this DVC resort so special. While the world-class restaurants and spa are hard to beat, everyone at WDW has access to them; it’s the 24-hour pool only available to resort guests that really get me jazzed! The Courtyard Pool (the larger of the 2 Grand Floridian pools) is actually open 24/7—even if they try to tell you it closes at 11:00, as long as you keep it down, no one is going to stop you from taking a late-night dip in the pool or soak in the Jacuzzi. Shhhh!
So if you’re a DVC member and looking to bask in the whimsical charm Walt Disney was so adamant creating for his guests, the Grand Floridian Villas are the spot for you!
