What is there for boys at Walt Disney World? Isn’t WDW just for girls?
We hear it all time time. Walt Disney World is all Princesses, Castles, ribbons and girly stuff. Right?
Not so much. Here’s a little secret. There is a lot more for boys at Walt Disney World than there is for girls. I’m serious. Tim the Tool Man Taylor would feel right at home at Walt Disney World.
Check this out. You are going to be shocked at just how much of Walt Disney World is boy/guy/man friendly.
Most of the Magic Kingdom is boy friendly.
- Tomorrowland, yes, all of Tomorrowland
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- The Barnstormer
- Gaston’s Tavern
- Peter Pan’s Flight, yes it is
- Splash and Big Thunder Mountains
- Frontierland Shooting Arcade
- The Haunted Mansion
- The WDW Railroad
That’s pretty much all of the Magic Kingdom and what’s not listed is pretty fun for boys too. Even It’s a Small World (those dolls are creepy though.)
Half of Epcot is totally for guys. The other half…
- All of Future World, think about it
- The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- Soarin’ and The Land Pavilion
- Journey into Imagination with Figment
- Test Track
- Mission Space
- Universe of Energy
- Le Cellier
The World Showcase isn’t the best for us guys, but there are some spots like the Africa Station and some of the shows are pretty good.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Just about everything…
- Tower of Terror
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
- Toy Story Mania
- Star Tours: The Adventure Continues
- Jedi Training Academy
- Indiana Jones Stunt Show
- One Man’s Dream

See? I told you!
Animal Kingdom may be the most boy friendly park at Walt Disney World.

Mmmm, let’s see, what else is there in Animal Kingdom? Not much.
Hey Tim, what do you say about the Water Parks? Ugh, ugh, ugh!
When you look at the Disney Hotels, most of them are very friendly to boys. It’s incredible.
- The Wilderness Lodge
- Fort Wilderness Campground
- The Contemporary Resort
- The Beach Club and Yacht Club
- Coronado Springs Resort
- Pop Century
- Art of Animation (except the Little Mermaid section)
- All Star Resorts (yes all 3)
- Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Saratoga Springs Resort
Those are just the obviously “manly” hotels. All of the others except the Grand Floridian have some “manly” properties. I guess we can give up 1 hotel, right guys?
When it comes to the restaurants, guys, we do really well. Really well.
- Chef Mickey’s
- Pineapple Lanai
- Whispering Canyon Cafe
- Trail’s End
- Crystal Palace
- Gaston’s Tavern
- Casey’s Corner
- Liberty Tree Tavern
- Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
- Coral Reef
- Yorkshire County Fish Shop
- Tangierine Cafe
- Teppan Edo
- Toluca Legs Turkey Company
- Sci Fi Dine In
- Tusker House
- Dino Bites Snacks
- Cape May Cafe
- The Food Courts at the Value Resorts
- ESPN Club
- Shula’s Steak House
I could go on for a long time on the restaurants. Even some of the “girly” restaurants like Be Our Guest are pretty guy friendly. Let’s get real. It’s the Beast’s Castle.
There is a whole lot more things that for boys at Walt Disney World. It all starts at the airport with the big Luxury Motor Coach. One of Tim the Tool Man’s favorites. Then you have the monorail, fishing, sports, a whole navy of boats, over 700 buses, Disney Quest, Splitsville, The Boathouse, do I need to say more?
It’s amazing that Walt Disney World has the reputation of not being a place for guys. I started making the list and didn’t see much for girls to do. It was crazy.
That’s what this months issue of WDW Magazine is all about. Yeah, it’s called Pirates, Jedi and Adventure at WDW, but it’s really about the things for boys at Walt Disney World. Boys of all ages.
